It is always amazing how much changing colours can dramatically improve a living space. When planning to decorate consider the four basic colour schemas: neutral, warm, fresh, vibrant.

Before choosing a colour scheme for a room it is a good idea to check the direction it faces. South facing rooms get the most sunlight and can take a cooler scheme of colours such as greens, blues, and whites.

North facing rooms will have a cooler outlook and you may want to balance this with warmer colours such as yellows, oranges, reds pinks and creams.

Check the colour at several times of the day, but paying particular attention to the time of day the room is mainly used.

Rather than painting the wall with a test colour, use a sheet of paper, and move it around each wall to see how it looks with different amounts of light.
